TeleDiagnostic
Systems (TDS) was formed in 1972, we have now been in business
serving the medical community for over thirty years. In a
pioneering project, TDS developed the first system capable of
transmitting real-time EEG via standard voice grade telephone
line. TDS literally invented the now active field of tele-medicine
long before the word was ever coined.
For
many years TDS performed thousands of EEG's every month through
our own clinical telenetwork. TDS then left the clinical field to
focus our resources on instrumentation development and
manufacture. Over a thousand hospitals now use TDS teleEEG
systems. In 1997 TDS introduced an innovative new system for
teleEEG. Whereas the previous system was based on analog
frequency modulation, and was limited to 10 channels, this new
system is based on high-speed digital processing and can transmit
24 channels of high-resolution EEG in real-time over a standard
phone line. TDS has been granted a patent on this new proprietary
EEG processing and transmission technology.
After
discovering that many of our customers were using our teleEEG
systems for conducting sleep studies. TDS decided to develop a
system specifically for this application, and in 1987 TDS
introduced the highly successful VISTA Polysomnography
system. VISTA was one of the very first computer based sleep
systems in the early days of personal computers. Some of the
very first full montage in-home recordings were performed with an
innovative portable version of the VISTA system.
After
more than thirty years TDS is still going strong. In 2003
TDS introduces our new Nightron Polysomnography System. The
new Nightron System incorporates all of our many years of
experience with analog instrumentation, in combination with the
latest state-of-the-art in networking and digital signal
processing.
